From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within the city.

Note: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • But, their position as key figures in the influential clan could help the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

Based on the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.

Fans can expect discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
